Julie Brown is the President of SDI Staffing. She started SDIS in 1995 and specializes in placing temporary and direct-hire employees throughout Southern California for the insurance and financial services industries. Julie is a California Licensed Fire/Casualty Agent and a Certified Staffing Professional. She is a member of the American Staffing Association (ASA) and California Staffing Professionals. She is the past president and current treasurer of the San Diego Chapter of California Staffing Professionals and is the director for the San Diego Chapter on the state board. She is active in San Diego Insurance Women and PWI, where she has served numerous roles including president. She actively participates as a member of the Independent Brokers and Agents of San Diego, and the Risk Insurance Management Society (RIMS) San Diego Chapter. In 2008, Julie was asked to join the steering committee of the San Diego Chapter of the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF). She also teaches insurance and personal development classes to clients and industry organizations.She has been recognized with numerous awards, including SBA’s “Women Owned Business of the Year for San Diego and Imperial Counties,” “Employer of the Year” by the San Diego Workforce Partnership, “Women Who Mean Business” Award from the San Diego Business Journal, “Insurance Woman of the Year” from PWI, “Associate Member of the Year” by the Independent Brokers & Agents of San Diego, and the Career Sponsorship Award by the OPT Program at Grossmont College for her dedication to educate young people about the insurance industry.
Prior to founding SDI Staffing, Julie spent more than 12 years in insurance both at carrier and agency level in Southern California and North Carolina. From sales and customer service in both personal and commercial lines, to operations manager, Julie learned the insurance industry.
She is a native of San Diego, married with two children, a daughter and a son, and enjoys camping, reading, and attending her kid’s athletic events. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and a minor in Economics from the University of California at San Diego. During race season she can be found every other weekend at Barona Speedway watching her son and husband racing dwarf cars.
Vice President of Staffing Operations
Michelle has been with SDI Staffing since 1997 and has an in depth knowledge of CA Employment Laws. As Vice President of Staffing Operations, she is responsible for the profitability of division operations. She ensures organizational effectiveness, identifies and implements best practices, and establishes accounting policies, practices, and procedures. She maintains the payroll & billing processes, manages Human Resources, administers employee benefits and workers compensation claims, and works as the primary network administrator troubleshooting computer and server issues. She also maintains the company’s databases, installs software, and updates the company website and marketing materials.

Although Michelle has traveled quite a bit over the years as a military dependent, she has always been rooted to San Diego. She enjoys quality time with family and friends, cooking, traveling, and fishing whenever she gets the chance.
Lead Account Manager
Sharlene has been with SDI Staffing since 1998. She is most passionate about recruiting, helping candidates find a successful career in insurance, and assisting clients with finding the top talent they are seeking. Currently, Sharlene works as the Lead Account Manager. She evaluates applicants on their skills, education, work history, personality and salary requirements. She also works with clients to assist them in their search for applicants that have the experience and skills they are seeking for their office. Sharlene is an active member of Professional Women in Insurance, California Staffing Professionals and the American Staffing Association. She is trained in CA Employment and Sexual Harassment Law (FMLA, Meal & Rest Periods, Exempt & Non-Exempt Employees, etc.).
Sharlene was born and raised in San Diego, CA. She enjoys traveling as well as spending time with her husband, their two Labs, family and friends.
Lead Talent Acquisition Specialist
Alison joined SDI Staffing in 2017. She possesses a ten year background in recruiting, hiring, and personnel management for several successful multi-unit restaurant corporations. She has spent the past decade passionate about finding people jobs that they love, which in turn allows brands to flourish.
Alison attended both Pepperdine University and The University of San Diego, majoring in Fine Arts and Psychology. Growing up, Alison spent a lot of time traveling the world with her mother, brother, and grandmother, all avid travelers. For fun, Alison loves cooking, reading, traveling, painting, hiking, and spending quiet time with her family.
Talent Acquisition Specialist
Cynthia joined the SDI Staffing team in 2019. She brings with her more than 20 years of experience in human resources, particularly in recruitment, employee relations, employee engagement, and 15 years in a recruiting/staffing firm. She has worked with various industries related to Aviation, Business Process Outsourcing, Call Center Management, Software Technology and the Food industry. She has also worked in other roles related to Customer Service, Client Support, Quality Management, Executive and Administrative support. She’s most passionate about recruiting because it helps both the client in finding the right fit and the candidate in attaining the right job, ultimately helping an organization grow and be successful.
Cynthia graduated with a double degree in Psychology and Guidance Counseling and would like to someday own a facility for people with developmental disabilities. She considers herself both an animal and human rights advocate. She currently volunteers for an NGO supporting abused and abandoned animals and also volunteers at a home care facility. Cynthia loves experimenting with food, enjoys traveling to countries (especially those with theme parks), and takes pleasure in walking dogs and feeding birds.
Talent Acquisition Specialist
Randy joined SDI Staffing in 2019 and brings several years of sales experience, including 4 years of insurance experience. He previously worked as an Insurance Sales and Customer Service Agent while also mentoring other sales agents. Randy enjoys talking to others, is passionate in helping people in all aspects, and feels his knowledge of the insurance industry gives him a deeper understanding in finding the right talent.
Randy is originally from Orange County, but moved to San Diego at the age of 15. He enjoys music, writing poetry, cooking and staying active. He also has a daughter which means the world to him!!!
Rosa originally joined SDI Staffing in 2007 as Staffing Assistant. She brings with her a wealth of administrative skills from a variety of industries to include Workers’ Compensation Law, Insurance, and Family Law. Her legal experience was obtained through working for Workers’ Compensation Attorneys for many years and her insurance experience was acquired while working in the Underwriting Department of a well-recognized Insurance Carrier. She has processed Loss Runs and MVRs, ordered property inspections, reviewed inspections, has sent clients’ notices of outcome of inspections, and processed endorsements and renewals. Additionally, Rosa has taken many workshops in Organization and Human Resources giving her key skills in managing her current position. She wears many hats at SDI Staffing from checking references to assisting new hires navigating through the hiring process and you can always hear her smile in her phone greeting.
Rosa enjoys living in beautiful San Diego. She finds time to go to the beach and hike at Cowles Mountain. She also enjoys baking, cooking, stitching, and loom knitting.
